It is with great regret that SFx Airsoft Limited have to announce the cancellation of their Copehill Down Village Event on 14th -16th May 2010 all deposits will be returned in full within the next 7-14 days.
We have been in discussions with Landmarc over the last few weeks with regards to the unacceptable operational constraints that are now being imposed on us. These new constraints prevent us running the event to the high standard that we intended and have advertised.
As and when we announce our next event all the player that are booked in to this event will be notified in advance and offered priority booking at a discounted rate.
The agreements that we were given during our initial discussions allowed us to offer a unique Airsoft experience, unfortunately this is now not the case. We can no longer take our field kitchen on site to offer quality, value for money catering for the weekend so the only source of food is the on site burger van which I feel is totally unsatisfactory.
We can no longer use the amount of pyro that we wished. The event is advertised as having a large amount of interactive pyro, this is no longer the case, reducing the effectiveness of the mortars and the enjoyment of you the player, also the rigging and blasting of the compound entrances is no longer possible.
The use of the Scout Helicopter is also now not permitted.
I hope that you all will agree with me that it is unfair to ask you all to travel great distances at great cost to you and pay £85 to partake in what will now be nothing more than a general site skirmish that you can find anywhere in the country.
Please accept my sincere apologise for the short notice of this cancellation and also my thanks to you all for booking with us. Hope to see you all at a future event.
TLSFx are honouring their offer of running the competition for their new T5 reusable grenade, so all the players booked in will be entered into a draw and the first 10 names drawn will be presented with a new T5 Grenade.
Kind regards
SFx Team
15th-16th May 2010
NEWS UPDATE
First of all on the Saturday there will be a Military Scout helicopter on site flying into and over the site to add a little realistic atmosphere to the event, bringing the British new intel and target locations from within the base (this is not to be shot at).
Also at the event TLSFx are proud to announce the launch of their new reusable grenade.
The T5 is a sleek modern looking device made from Anodised Aluminium with a FOL (fly off lever) assembly that has been designed to remain attached to the grenade so as to reduce the likelihood of loosing it. There are only 4 parts to this revolutionary grenade, all the user has to do is replace the percussion cap and the cracker unit and it is ready to be used again. A T5 derivative is already in use with the police and military and so it was a natural progression to bring it to Airsoft.
SFx Airsoft are pleased to announce that they have the first 10 T5’s to offer to 10 lucky players who attend the event, the names of all the players will be placed into a draw and the first 10 names drawn out will be the proud new owner of the TLSFx T5. The RRP of the T5 is yet to be confirmed but will be in the region of £50.00
MISSION BRIEF
New Additions to copehill down. Walled compounds.
Sector 36 is a secret British military training base in the lowlands of Croatia, close to the border with Serbia.
During the Serb/Croat war it was used as a training and R&R base for British forces, as a thank you to the British military for their help in the fight against ethnic cleansing the base was given over to the military on an open ended lease. In recent years the base has been guarded by a small force from the Croat army due to Britain’s operational requirements in other parts of the world. On New Years Eve a small but as to now relatively unknown Serbian terrorist group ( The Czechoslovakian Peoples Army ) over ran the base and took the guards prisoner. Of the 80 personnel taken captive 20 were shot during the attack, the rest are being held somewhere within the confines of the base. The strength of the terrorist group is at yet unknown but it is hoped that this will be known soon. The group are very small and closely knit so infiltration has proved to be extremely difficult.
If negotiations fail to gain the release of the hostages and the return of the base then a full on assault is being considered. Due to the location of the base an air assault is thought the best option, as the only 2 road in are controlled by the group. It is thought that the group have food and ammunition for a prolonged siege. The base has its own well so fresh water for the group is readily available, this leaves them in a very strong position and able to sustain themselves through a long stand off. This is not the preferred option as several of the captives are thought to be injured some seriously. The Red Cross have been denied access to the base so the health, treatment and living conditions for all the captives are unknown, but thought to be less than satisfactory.
As and when Intel for the relative sides becomes available it will be forwarded to those sides concerned.
Each side will have current or ex service personnel to advise and give guidance if and when required. You are all here to enjoy yourselves so the advisers are there to be used as you require not boss you around.
BRIEF UPDATE - COPEHILL
The operation is due to start at 10:30 on the 15th May 2010, it has been brought forward due to updated intel that we have received from our Special Forces on the ground. We have learned that the Czechs have taken delivery of a Grail SAM System from a Chechen Warlord. The fact that this until now unknown terrorist group has the financial ability to purchase such hardware is of great and worrying concern to both the British and Governments in the local region.
The Chechen Warlord a certain Sergei Kastropov has been located whilst travelling through the Ukraine, picked up and transported back to the UK. After being asked nicely, decided to supply us with the information and updates that we now have. We now know that there are only a small number of the original Sector 36 Croatian guard left alive, the exact number is unknown but there condition is grave to say the least. They are living in squalid conditions and receiving extreme ill treatment.
The SAM System is under construction, but how advanced is uncertain. After the initial air insertion by the RAF and Fast Air Support it is considered to high risk to offer continued Air Support due to the existence of the SAM system. This system has to be located and destroyed, only then can we use minimal, precision air strikes to clear the compound. Due to the historical value of the site the British Government are under pressure from their Croatian counterparts to inflict minimal structural damage to the site and surrounding areas.
SCENARIO and OBJECTIVES
BRITISH
RAF Chinooks supported by 6 Apache Gun ships have air lifted 42 Commando The Royal Marines into the region. The Marines are supported by The Royal Engineers and a Mortar team. 72 hours earlier under the cover of darkness a 4 man SBS patrol moved into the area and set up a FOP on a hillside over looking Sector 36, they have monitored all movements within the camp, identified potential threats and targets
The SBS will link up with their Navy colleagues at their rally point to pass on their gathered intel. Then the CO will take charge of the operation to regain control of the base.
Objectives for the British.
Gain entry to the camp – Initial fast air strike and artillery bombardment
Locate and destroy the Grail SAM site. (This will be rigged with Pyro which the British have to locate, connect the firing box and destroy.
6 Compounds
Blast open the compound doors for Marine insertion. The Royal Engineers with Marine escorts have to fight their way to the entrance doors to the compounds, these will be rigged with frame charges ready to be blown so that the Marines can enter to clear the buildings.
Guard your Mortar
Capture the Czechs Mortar
Kill the terrorists
CZECHS
The Terrorists are a well organised and committed group with significant funding, the source of which is not yet known. But since their assault on the base they have become increasingly jittery, they are aware that the British are going to try to retake the base and the anticipation is causing decent within the group. The treatment that the remaining prisoners are receiving from the terrorist leader gets more brutal by the day as his loathing for the Croats grows. Certain factions within the camp are aware that the ill treatment and resulting deaths by their leader towards the prisoners will result in less than sympathetic treatment from the British if they are successful in retaking the base.
Objectives for the Czechs
Prevent the British entering the Base
Protect your compounds within the base
Guard the Grail SAM System
Guard your Mortar
Capture the British MortarKill the British
